Communities are the building blocks of society, so Skytec provides the following services for residential projects. Please see our services page for more info:
Slope stability and retaining wall analysis and design
Building verticality and floor survey
Invasive/Non-invasive Testing Services
Seismic repairs to a residential house
In this project we provided seismic structural repair to a house and ground investigations to assess slope stability (due to slope failure). The purpose of doing the slope stability analysis was to provide a risk assessment of the slope's future stability.
We completed the investigation within two months. However, bad weather (affecting health and safety issues) hindered the progress with the slope's analysis. We undertook this project using our own gear which impacted positively on both fulfilling the scope and when changes were needed based on site conditions.
Looking at earthquake prone structures
Skytec investigated 80-100 structures in Christchurch city - many of which were residential properties. The work included geotechnical assessments and design and project management/asset management.
These projects included the use of seismic cone penetration testing (CPT), standard penetration testing (SPT), underground subsurface videographing, application of the Hazard Activities Industries List (HAIL), liquefaction risk analysis, ground consolidation risk analysis, slope stability analysis, soil sampling and physical drilling.
